Today I'm going to compare two very famous aviators.
These people are Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart.
So I'm going to list the pro's and con's and then say which aviator I think is better.
Amelia Earhart:
Pro - Con
1.She was the first -She disappeared
aviator to fly solo -after attempting around the -a great
Atlantic circumnavigation
ocean. -flight around the -globe
Jean Batten:
Pro
1.
she became the best-known New Zealander of the 1930's, internationally, by making a number of
record-breaking solo flights across the world. She made the first-ever solo flight from England to New Zealand in 1936.
Con
1.Her whereabouts remained unknown until September 1987, when it was revealed that she had died in Majorca on 22 November 1982. She had been bitten by a dog, and after refusing treatment had died needlessly from a pulmonary abscess. On 22 January 1983 she was buried in a paupers' mass grave.
OK so honestly I think Jean Batten is better because she is a New Zealander like me.

ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us a bit about Amelia Earhart and Jean Batten - I like how you've compared and contrasted by using pro's and con's for both legendary female pilots. How great is it that both of these aviators were women?! I'm really proud of this fact and especially proud that one of them is a New Zealander.
Can you please tell me where you found all of this information?
