Hi!!!
I'm Peyton.
Welcome back to...
"Peyton's SLJ!"
today I'm going to
1.The name of the person
2.A sentence about the work they do/have done
3.A sentence about how they/their work has had an impact on the lives of others
So I read about Jessica Watson.
Jessica Watson navigated some of the world’s most remote oceans and survived seven knockdowns and 210 days alone at sea to become the youngest person to sail solo, nonstop around the world, aged 16.
Thank you.

Kia Ora Peyton,
ReplyDeleteWell done for completing another of the Summer Learning Journey activities. Did you enjoy learning about Jessica Watson? She is very brave and determined. I don’t think I could handle being alone for so long on a boat by myself.
I can see that you have copied some of your information straight from a website, did you want to add the name of the website to your blog post to give them credit for their words? For example, you could write according to …. Like this! According to Jessica Watson’s website she has navigated some of the world’s most remote oceans and survived seven knockdowns and 210 days alone at sea.
Otherwise you can try and rewrite the words so it is in your own words instead. An example would be this sentence about Kelly Slater here:
He captured his first World Title in 1992 at the age of 20, and his last in 2011, at 39.
I could rewrite it to say: Kelly Slater has won many World Titles over his surfing career including his first one when he was 20 in 1992 and his last when he was 39 in 2011.
Comment below when you have changed your blog post to add more information and changed the wording so I can give you the full points for this activity!
Blog ya later,
Dani
