Hi Peyton, really good use of rounding and compensation for your first question on slide 8. For the second question, you can also use rounding to roughly estimate the numbers. For example:
ReplyDelete80+80+100=260 so we know that 301.20 would be too much since we already rounded up all the numbers.
See if you can use rounding to estimate: 71.43-69.88.
The first question 249.42- 394.42=-145 (you can subtract a bigger number but it becomes negative).
Slide 9- Great use of place value partitioning, you've shown a good understanding of ones, tenths and hundredths.
Slide 12- Check the last equation. Try following the BEDMAS rule.
