Kia Ora Peyton,
ReplyDeleteWell done on completing yet another SLJ related activity.
I am pleased to read you would like to visit Tāne Mahuta. You're right, Tāne Mahuta is very famous. Tāne Mahuta plays an important role in Māori Mythology, as Tāne is one of our core atua's (God's) and governs the forest including all that dwell within it. This particular Kauri tree has spiritual qualities and this is often one of the reasons why some people visit the site.
Tāne Mahuta is quite an incredible sight. Because you have said that this activity wasn't very long, maybe you could you tell me more about Tāne Mahuta? Do you know the height and width of this Kauri tree? Or where it is located in New Zealand?
Thank you Peyton, keep up the great blogging!
I look forward to reading more of your blog entries.
Cheers,
Jordan
