This week our main focus for school was the pahurehure inlet and what we could do to make it better in the future. My idea was to send emails and put up posters to tell people that there will be weekly rubbish clean ups on Tuesdays to get rid of the rubbish and mangroves. What do you think would be a good idea to make the inlet better?

You've shown really good structure in your persuasive letter. I wonder if you could use emotive words to create impact. For example, you could say, 'The rubbish and mangroves are devastating habitats and destroying what once was a safe haven for animals.'
For your explanation, I like that you've used firstly and secondly to introduce different ways your project idea could help the community. You can ask yourself how/when/what/why/who questions to build on your explanations. For example:
- Why is it important to build connections in a community?
- What kind of people would want to volunteer?
- What kinds of native trees would you plant?
